Hello. I am Dr. Lee Jong-jin, head of Ceraclinic.

Recently, there has been a lot of interest in Titanium lifting.

Many people are drawn to it by the promise of results that are both natural-looking and virtually painless.

This statement is only half true.

However, all medical procedures have appropriate conditions and realistic limitations, and lasers are no exception; they inevitably have two sides.

From this perspective, Titanium is no exception.

Today, I would like to discuss this device in depth, focusing on the topic of 'Conditions You Must Consider Before the Procedure'.

1. Why You Shouldn't Get the Procedure Just Because It's 'Painless'

All laser lifting devices have their own unique mechanisms of action and target skin layers.

This means that each device targets different skin problems and achieves different depths of effect.

Some devices are specialized in contracting the deep SMAS layer using high-intensity focused ultrasound, while others focus on densely creating collagen throughout the dermis using radio frequency.

In contrast, Titanium delivers thermal energy to tissues at various depths, from the epidermis and dermis to the deeper supporting ligaments, by simultaneously irradiating three combined wavelengths of diode laser (755nm, 810nm, and 1064nm).

In other words, it focuses on inducing both tightening and collagen regeneration in the 'overall layer' rather than a single layer.

This combination targets complex skin problems beyond just one single effect.

Specifically, the 755nm wavelength is relatively shallow, the 810nm wavelength covers the entire dermal layer, and finally, the 1064nm wavelength reaches the deep dermis and supporting ligaments to create a structural lifting effect that refines sagging contours.

Thanks to this complex mechanism of action, Titanium can improve fine lines on the skin's surface while also brightening the overall tone.

Pain

Most of the pain experienced during laser procedures comes from the unpleasant heat felt when the laser's thermal energy touches the skin's surface.

However, Titanium lowers the skin's surface temperature with a cooling tip that is maintained at -3℃, so the epidermis is protected and cooled even while the laser is working deeply.

In addition, although three wavelengths are irradiated at once, the energy is not concentrated in one place but is continuously moved and widely dispersed, using a method of accumulating heat. In simple terms, it is similar to 'softly tapping' multiple times rather than being 'strongly hit' once.

The peak of pain is low, and there is no time to feel momentary pain.

Perhaps it is thanks to this complex mechanism, that is, epidermal protection and a gentle energy delivery method, that it gives such a strong impression of being 'virtually painless'.

However... 'no pain' does not mean 'zero pain'. ^^;

This device works on the principle that effective thermal stimulation must be delivered deep into the skin in order to achieve results.

Therefore, you may inevitably feel sensations as heat accumulates in the deep layers of the skin during the procedure.

In fact, patients describe it as a 'heavy warmth beyond just warm'.

Therefore, you may feel the heat more strongly in areas where the bone and skin are close together, such as the cheekbones, forehead, and jawline.

Although the pain is tolerable enough to allow the procedure to be performed without numbing cream, those with high pain sensitivity may still feel discomfort.

In conclusion, while Titanium should not be lightly dismissed as 'painless,' it is realistic to understand that very few people experience the extreme pain associated with other high-intensity procedures.

3. 'Side Effects' That No One Tells You About?

In addition to pain, there are also realistic side effects to be aware of.

Unlike radio frequency or ultrasound devices, Titanium is based on a laser (diode), and some of its wavelengths inevitably react to the melanin pigment in hair follicles or fine hairs.

In the process, strong heat is temporarily transferred around the hair follicles, which can cause a slight inflammatory reaction, manifesting as temporary redness or folliculitis (pimples similar to acne).

In particular, those with a history of folliculitis or frequent breakouts, or men with thick beards or facial hair, should be aware of these potential risks.

The fact that it is less painful and has faster effects is definitely a good thing. ^^

However, there is a big difference between knowing the disadvantages of the procedure and not knowing them, so I hope you will understand the volume distribution and the characteristics of the tissues inside your skin before receiving the procedure.
